Well the pop-up is out of storage now and home, which means its spring. Now if only the weather knew that. I knew there were a few things I wanted to do to it before I take it camping for the first time this year (mem day weekend) but the more I think about it, the more ideas I come up with that would/will make the camper that much cooler!
To begin with I took out the old ('70s olive green) curtains and made some new ones out of 3 different fabric patterns. 1 for the windows and 1 for each of the 2 bed curtains.(closes off the bed from the main part of the camper)
Next I need to put in a new stereo head unit since I blew the last one and even the new one I just bought for it but attaching an (unbeknownst to me at the time) ungrounded antenna to them, which shorted out the internal amp, which means they turn on, they just don't produce any sound.
I also am going to put up two more collapsible hanging shelving units in. 1 above the table, and 1 above the sink.
Also I need to put the eye hooks in the back of the speakers....( I have two speakers mounted inside the camper, and two that are bookshelf speakers to bring outside.)...so I can hang them from the top of the side of the camper.
I also need to get a new radio antenna and install it (and ground it good)
I would also like to get whats called the air maxx 2 for the roof vent, which makes it possible to have the roof vent open even during the rain.
Plus I think this would make the camper look cooler.
I also need to buy and outdoor mat/rug and need to buy some PVC pipe to make a holder for it on the back bumper of the camper.
Thats just what I would like to do, what I have already done so far is, as I have mentioned, the Curtains, I also put a big level in the center to make it easier to park. I also put a flag pol holder on the part of the camper that raises up. I put a wrap around rug on the fold out step, two smaller levels on the front corner of the frame. Two clips on the door side that hold 2 smaller solar lights. a solid shelving system on the inside that quadrupled the space, 1 collapsible hanging shelf.
So that is what I will most likely be working on today and maybe tomorrow...weather permitting.
It may sound like I am stressed about it, but quite the contrary I LOVE doing it, I am also helping my 2 friends who also each just bought a pop-up (after sleeping in mine and loving it) I just wish money grew on trees, because I also need to do some major work to the Tow Vehicle I use, a 1987 GMC Rally STX G2500 Van. So between the two of my summer toys I will be spending a lot of my time :D
